Ogury's Spotlight Series | Sylvain Matarazzo

Sylvain Matarazzo is a Sales Director for Ogury, based out of Toronto, Canada - that’s what his resume would say. But there’s so much more to his story than the job title might suggest. Can you tell us a bit more about your background leading up to Ogury?

I have been working in the advertising and media industry for over 15 years in both France and Canada. I spent several years with a leading Canadian publisher, selling multi platform advertising solutions to top Canadian agencies and advertisers. Seeking to deepen my experience in media strategy, investment strategy, and agency operations, I took on a leadership role at Wavemaker. After a few years leading media strategies for top Canadian advertisers, I decided to return to the sales side, where I could leverage my background in sales and agency operations to drive Ogury’s growth in Canada.

What excites you the most about joining us?

I am genuinely excited about joining such a talented and welcoming team. From day one, I’ve felt embraced and fortunate to be surrounded by great talents and leaders. I am thrilled to join Ogury, a company at the forefront of the adtech industry, sharing the same values about building a better internet experience for users and future generations in a world where privacy matters.

What’s your favorite part about working in ad tech?

The relentless pursuit of innovation and pushing boundaries in a constantly evolving industry. I thrive in an environment where we’re continually challenging the status quo, refining products, and delivering cutting-edge solutions to help companies and marketers achieve their goals. The integration of AI is transforming adtech by enhancing targeting and providing deeper audience insights. Making a tangible impact on global advertising strategies is both exhilarating and deeply rewarding.

If you could have one superpower to make your job easier, what would it be?

The ability to instantly understand and anticipate each client’s needs and preferences with perfect accuracy. This superpower would eliminate guesswork, enhance client satisfaction, and ultimately drive better results and stronger relationships.

What is your current obsession?

I recently started learning to play the guitar and am obsessed— I can play for hours!

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

I’m a terrible singer, but if I had to choose, I’d go for a French song from the '90s like “ Je t’emmène au vent” by Louise Attaque.

What’s your persona?

Extreme sports enthusiasts and active families!

What is one thing that always makes you happy?

I am originally from France and have been living in Toronto for 13 years. Family reunions hold a special place for me and always make me happy. More broadly, making a positive impact on people’s lives is very fulfilling and brings me joy.
