On paper, Mika Kurita is Ogury’s Director of Customer Success, based in Tokyo, Japan. But her story extends far beyond what her resume can convey. Through Ogury’s Spotlight Series, we’re exploring the unique passions and perspectives that shape our team members in their professional and personal lives.
Can you tell us a bit more about your background leading up to Ogury?
My career - and my heart - have always been in advertising, and I’ve loved every step of the journey. I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles in Japan, including as the regional advertising manager for a major global publisher, where I helped connect audiences with impactful advertising solutions. I also worked as a sales manager at an adtech company, where I focused on digital and programmatic advertising. These experiences allowed me to build a deep understanding of the advertising landscape and the power of technology in shaping the future of the industry.
What excites you the most about working here?
The people. From day one, I’ve been inspired by the talent and energy of everyone here.
Also, there’s always something exciting happening at Ogury, and I’m particularly passionate about our work in Personified Advertising—it feels like there are no limits to what we can achieve in this space.
What’s your favorite part about working in adtech?
The adtech industry is a dynamic, ever-evolving space where innovation thrives. I’m fascinated by how it bridges data and creativity to deliver meaningful advertising experiences. Adtech doesn’t just connect brands to audiences—it shapes how people discover and engage with products, often in ways they don’t even realize. It’s exciting to be part of an industry that influences everyday decisions and experiences.

I’m a certified onsen sommelier! I love traveling, especially within Japan, and I enjoy exploring different onsen (hot springs). Each visit feels like a new adventure and it’s a great way to relax and recharge.
If you could have one superpower to make your job easier, what would it be?
I’d love to be able to speak 10 languages fluently! That way, I could truly understand the nuances of every conversation and connect with clients and teams from all over the world in the most meaningful way.
What is your current obsession?
I’ve developed a love for saunas. There’s something incredibly rejuvenating about the combination of heat, relaxation and the mental clarity it brings—it’s become one of my favorite ways to unwind.
On top of that, I recently went snorkeling in the Maldives, and I’m hooked! Exploring underwater life was such a breathtaking experience, and it’s definitely something I want to continue.
What’s your go-to karaoke song?
I love going to karaoke, especially with my team members. We usually dive into all the trending songs in Japan—it’s a great way to bond and have fun!
What’s your persona?
I’m a "Traveler". I’m always eager to explore new places, whether it’s traveling in Japan or going overseas. For me, travel is about the adventure, the experiences and, of course, the food that brings everything to life!
What is one thing that always makes you happy?
My friends and family. No matter what’s happening, they’re my constant source of joy and support.
