Ogury's Spotlight Series | Jil-Marlee Bieck

Jil-Marlee Bieck is a Regional People Operations Manager for Ogury, based out of Cologne, Germany - that’s what her resume would say. But there’s so much more to her story than their job title might suggest. In Ogury’s Spotlight Series, we’re delving past the day-to-day duties to see what shapes our employees inside and outside the workplace.

Can you tell us a bit more about your background leading up to Ogury?

I have worked in startups for the past four years, building up HR departments from scratch while always being a one-woman show. I was already familiar with Ogury since I had previously worked for a small Marketing Agency located in the same building two years ago. So, when I came across the open HR position, it jogged my memory.

Interestingly, towards the end of my leave, we ended up swapping offices with Ogury (we moved up because we didn't need as much space, and Ogury needed more), so I am pretty familiar with the office.

What excites you the most about joining Ogury?

Being able to assume a generalist role in a global environment is significant for me. It marks my first experience in a larger company with entirely different processes and structures.

What’s your favorite part about working in adtech?

Well, having a background in marketing and having studied communications management, I find the creative aspects and strategic thinking behind adtech fascinating. Moreover, I'm drawn to the fast-paced environment inherent in adtech due to its business model—it keeps things exciting and dynamic.

If you could have one superpower to make your job easier, what would it be?

it would undoubtedly be the ability to be in multiple locations simultaneously or to teleport myself to thejil2 various countries under my responsibility.

What is your current obsession?

Once the season starts again: Tarte flambée with strawberries and bacon.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

Wonderwall (I guess that's everyone's right?)

What’s your Persona?

"Black Friday shoppers" and "Fitness Enthusiast”!
