From Awareness to Action: Ogury, Women in Tech, and Women in Tech Forum Are Driving Change

The gender gap in tech remains a critical industry challenge. Women continue to be underrepresented in science, tech, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, facing barriers to access, leadership, and career growth. At Ogury, we recognize that diverse and inclusive teams drive innovation and better business outcomes and that true equality goes beyond numbers - it’s about ensuring that women have the opportunities, support, and visibility to thrive in the industry.

For the third consecutive year, we are proud to support Women in Tech, a global organization dedicated to closing the gender gap and empowering women to embrace technology. This year, we’re expanding our efforts by partnering with Women in Tech Forum, an organization focused on equipping women in tech with the skills, networks, and mentorship opportunities to accelerate their careers. We aim to amplify conversations, share insights, and drive tangible action across the industry through these collaborations.

The Gender Gap is Holding the Industry Back

The gender gap in STEM isn’t just a statistic - it’s a missed opportunity. Research consistently shows that diverse teams perform better, yet women remain underrepresented at all levels, with women making up only 25% of the tech workforce, with just 11% in executive roles

Representation matters. When women see role models in leadership and technical positions, they are more likely to pursue and thrive in STEM careers. However, without visibility and opportunity, the industry continues to fall short -  only 52 women are promoted to manager in tech for every 100 men, compared to 86 women per 100 men across all sectors.

Creating a More Inclusive Industry

Women in Tech has a bold mission: to impact 5 million women and girls by 2030, ensuring they have the resources, opportunities and support they need to thrive in STEM. The organization works across education, business, digital inclusion, and advocacy to address systemic challenges and promote gender equality.

While organizations like Women in Tech focus on broad systemic change, Women in Tech Forum takes a more targeted approach - helping women in tech grow, lead, and succeed through professional development. The forum plays a vital role in bridging the gap between talent and leadership by connecting women with industry leaders and facilitating skill-building opportunities.

At Ogury, we believe that real change requires collective action. It’s not enough to acknowledge the problem - we must actively support initiatives that create real, lasting impact. That’s why we’re deepening our commitment this year through fundraising, awareness campaigns, and thought-leadership events.

How Ogury is Driving Change

Our partnership with Women in Tech started as a grassroots initiative led by our employees, who recognized the importance of fostering diversity and inclusion. Since then, our commitment has grown into a company-wide commitment.

Every March, we mobilize our teams globally to raise awareness and support for Women in Tech, through actions such as:

  • Selfie challenges, such as our #AccelerateAction initiative, inviting employees to take a picture flexing their arm, to encourage engagement and donations
  • Fitness challenges that promote employee wellness while supporting the cause

This year, we’re going beyond fundraising by introducing thought leadership events in collaboration with Women in Tech Forum to deepen the conversation and drive industry-wide change:

  • “Women in Tech, Engineering and Product Innovation” - This dynamic discussion featured industry leaders Anastasiia Prokaieva, Field Solutions Architect, Google; Marie Malherbe, Senior Product Manager, Integral Ad Science; Louise Wantz, Director of Product Marketing, Ogury; and Eva Elbing, Associate Data Analyst, Ogury, exploring AI, Machine Learning, and Large Language Models while highlighting actionable steps to accelerate progress for women in tech.
  • “Accelerate Action - Driving Progress and Creating Impact” - This hands-on session will discuss practical strategies for advancing gender equity, overcoming challenges, and fostering a culture of accountability.

Through these initiatives, we aim to spark critical conversations and reinforce our commitment to driving real change.

Fostering a Culture of Inclusion Together

At Ogury, we are dedicated to building diverse teams and an inclusive culture - but our mission goes beyond us. We contribute to a broader movement toward a more inclusive and diverse tech industry by partnering with Women in Tech and Women in Tech Forum.

Together, we can close the gender gap and create a future where women in tech don’t just participate - they lead.
