Cannes 2024: Privacy-First Advertising on the Global Stage

Another year, another Cannes Lions festival down! As a pioneering force in adtech, Ogury was on the ground with over 30 of our colleagues, showcasing our innovative solutions and deep commitment to privacy-first advertising through impactful panels and meetings. And yes, we also threw a ‘must-attend’ party or two.

Showcasing Leadership and Innovation

At the core of Ogury’s activities in Cannes was Personified Advertising. Our panels throughout the week, held in our suite, not only delved into the hot topics of the adtech industry but showcased how our data-driven approach and user privacy focus can help advertisers, brands, and publishers increase audience engagement and enable precise targeting.

In “Turning the Tide in Digital Advertising: Solving Addressability Issues and Reaching Audiences at Scale,” our panelists, Matthias Cada (Annalect) Hanne Tuomisto-Inch (Google) and Nicholas Flood (Future) moderated by our very own Stéphane Dupayage, dissected the challenges posed by reduced addressable audiences and heightened competition for inventory. Together, they covered how the industry can unite to empower advertisers to transcend cookie and ID dependencies, enabling precise targeting across the entire open web audience without compromising on privacy.

For our publishing partners, we hosted “Insights into the Evolving Open Internet Market: Dealing with Bidstream Congestion, Publisher Aggregators and Signal Fidelity.” Moderated by Ogury’s Wilfried Schobeiri, our panelists, industry experts Gabriel DeWitt (Yahoo) Heather Carver(Freestar) and Paul Bannister (Raptive) covered how publishers can navigate bidstream congestion to unlock new opportunities for revenue growth and audience engagement.

Networking and Collaborative Insights

When it comes to Cannes Lions, it’s not just business. The Ogury suite was buzzing with networking and ideas from in-suite meetings throughout the week. Invite-only meals at local restaurants facilitated dialogues that strengthened and grew partnerships between brands, agencies, and publishers, fostering collaboration. Attendees were also treated to sneak peaks of exciting Ogury product developments on the horizon - more updates to come!

And let’s not forget our Cannes Kick-off and Closing parties, hosted in the lush gardens of our suite, which brought a vibrant atmosphere for industry peers to reconnect and mingle, all while enjoying fun cocktails, local dishes, and our top-notch entertainment: French DJ and feminist activist Barbara Butch and London-based DJ music producer, promoter, and drag queen Jodie Harsh.

Looking Ahead

Ogury’s presence at Cannes Lions highlighted our role in shaping the future of digital advertising. Through our focus on zero-party data and Personified Advertising, we’re setting new benchmarks for the industry, ensuring that advertising remains effective and engaging while protecting consumer privacy.
