A Decade of Industry-Leading Advertising Solutions: 10 Years of Ogury
It’s a milestone year for Ogury as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. The journey began at the end of 2014 when two entrepreneurs founded a pioneering start-up. Then, the online advertising sector was in a race to collect data, but there was a glaring issue - it didn’t consider user choice. Our vision from day one: to become the world’s leading digital advertising company, anchored in consumer privacy.
Ogury was the first adtech company to offer users a clear way to share their consent for data sharing. Many in the industry questioned the feasibility and purpose of this - why ask for consent when you could just collect data? Their tune changed when privacy regulations like GDPR or CCPA emerged, proving our visionary structure. Because we were the first to give users control over their data sharing, we were also among the first in the industry to showcase that when given a clear choice, users prefer not to be tracked online.
In light of this, we innovated ahead of the rest of the industry, and long before technical changes to traditional advertising models, we decided to deliver solutions grounded in privacy by focusing on personas, not people. Our firm belief is that the most scalable and sustainable path forward for the industry is through this approach.
While our inaugural office was in London’s Highbury district, as the years have rolled by, we’ve transformed into a global leader with 25 offices worldwide and nearly 600 employees. In 2016, Ogury entered the US market, and the Americas quickly became our #1 market for revenue generated.
This anniversary is a celebration of our past achievements and a recognition of the incredible journey that has brought us here. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our growth, celebrate our successes, and set our sights on the future as a true pioneer in privacy-first advertising.
It’s been an exciting ten years - and the next decade will be even more vibrant. As pressure to ensure consumer privacy and choice builds, we will continue to innovate and lead in advertising solutions that are privacy-centric and future-proofed.
